A honey bee foraging on a yellow aster.
A honey bee on apple blossom.
A honey bee on "bee bee tree" flowers. Evodia danielli, family Rutaceae (same family as oranges). Simply the most attractive flowers to bees. I have seen over 20 bees on a single inflorescence.
A honey bee on a late blooming aster (October, MI). A more tightly cropped photo to show details.
A dwarf honey bee (Apis florea) foraging on a mimosa plant. Not sure if the plant was grown as a vegetable since it was in a vegetable garden. I saw mellifera, dorsata and florea foraging on this same plant (too bad I did not have a D70 at that time!)
